Day-by-Day Itinerary

• Day 1: Arrival in Maun – The Gateway to the Oasis: Your adventure begins in Maun, the bustling safari capital of Botswana. Upon landing, a representative from Okavango Exploration Safaris Ltd. will meet and transfer you to your introductory accommodation. Take the afternoon to rest, shake off your jet lag, and prepare for the epic expedition ahead. Meals: Dinner. Overnight: Comfortable mid-range lodge in Maun.
• Day 2: Maun to Central Kalahari Game Reserve – Into the Wild: We depart Maun early in our custom 4x4 safari vehicles, heading south into the legendary Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR). As the stark, haunting beauty of the desert unfolds, you will arrive at our private, mid-range wilderness campsite. Unwind around the campfire as the brilliant African stars illuminate the desert sky. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Private mid-range tented campsite (CKGR).
• Day 3: Central Kalahari Game Reserve – Ancient Horizons: Spend the first of two full days exploring the ancient, fossilized river valleys of the Kalahari, including the famous Deception Valley. This region offers a stark contrast to the wetlands ahead, boasting unique desert-adapted wildlife. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Private mid-range tented campsite (CKGR).
• Day 4: Central Kalahari Game Reserve – Desert Magic: Continue your deep exploration of the Kalahari. Seek out the majestic black-maned Kalahari lions, cheetahs, gemsbok, and springbok that thrive in this vast and arid environment. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Private mid-range tented campsite (CKGR).
• Day 5: Central Kalahari to Maun – Refresh & Recharge: Following a final morning game drive in the desert, we journey back to Maun. This transit day serves as a perfect pause to wash off the dust of the Kalahari, recharge camera batteries, and enjoy the amenities of town before venturing deep into the water wilderness of the Delta. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch. Overnight: Comfortable mid-range lodge in Maun.
• Day 6: Maun to Xakanaxa / Third Bridge (Moremi Game Reserve): Today we drive north into the jewel of the Okavango Delta: the Moremi Game Reserve. Our destination is the game-rich Xakanaxa and Third Bridge region, where tracking paths weave through mopane woodlands and lush floodplains. Wildlife here is spectacular, with frequent sightings of leopards, wild dogs, elephants, and cape buffaloes. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Private mid-range tented campsite (Moremi).
• Day 7: Xakanaxa / Third Bridge – Waterways & Wildlife: Trade the safari vehicle for a motorized boat (10:00 AM). We navigate the deep, papyrus-fringed channels of the Okavango Delta, bringing you close to pods of hippos, sunbathing crocodiles, and incredible birdlife. In the afternoon, enjoy an open-vehicle game drive focusing on the land-based predators of Moremi. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Private mid-range tented campsite (Moremi).
• Day 8: Moremi to Khwai Concession – River Guardians: We break camp and enjoy a slow game drive through the park toward the Khwai Concession, situated along the northern border of Moremi. Khwai is renowned for its exceptional predator viewing. Because it is a community concession, it offers unique flexibility, including night game drives and off-roading opportunities. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Private mid-range tented campsite (Khwai).
• Day 9: Khwai Concession – The Authentic Delta Experience: Experience the true essence of the Delta with a morning mokoro excursion (10:00 AM). Glide silently through the shallow, crystal-clear floodplains in a traditional dugout canoe. Later, embark on a dynamic afternoon game drive, stretching into the early evening to spot nocturnal wildlife with a spotlight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Private mid-range tented campsite (Khwai).
• Day 10: Khwai to Maun – Riverside Comfort: After a final morning sunrise drive in Khwai, we head back to Maun. Your safari concludes with a premium stay at the iconic Maun Lodge, beautifully positioned along the banks of the Thamalakane River. Celebrate the final evening of your journey with a delicious farewell dinner and a hot shower in your deluxe room. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Overnight: Maun Lodge (Deluxe Room).
• Day 11: Final Farewell: Enjoy a relaxed breakfast overlooking the river before your transfer to Maun International Airport for your onward flight, carrying memories of an unforgettable African expedition. Meals: Breakfast.

Safari Inclusions & Exclusions

• Safari Style (Mid-Range Camping): Spacious, walk-in dome tents equipped with comfortable camp beds, full linen, and pillows. En-suite or designated eco-friendly bucket showers with warm water and bush toilets. A dedicated camp crew handles all camp setup, cooking, and chores.
• Included Accommodation & Meals: 7 nights in private mid-range wilderness campsites and 3 nights in comfortable lodges/hotels. All meals as indicated, prepared over an open fire by our bush chef, plus filtered water, soft drinks, local beers, and house wines.
• Included Logistics & Activities: All scheduled 4x4 game drives, motorized boat cruise in Xakanaxa, and mokoro excursion in Khwai. Dedicated 4x4 open safari vehicles, professional licensed guide, camp assistants, and all national park and community fees.
• Not Included: International flights to/from Maun, comprehensive travel and medical insurance (mandatory), premium spirits/imported wines, lodge meals not specified, gratuities, and personal items.
