Are the camps fenced? Can animals wander through?

No — mobile safari camps and most parks and concessions in Botswana are completely unfenced. Wild animals, including large mammals like elephants, hippos, and even lions, can and do pass through camp.

This is one of the things that makes the Okavango Delta experience so special. You are inside the wilderness, not separated from it by barriers.

Is it safe?

Yes. Our guides are trained to read wildlife behaviour and set up camp in safe locations. Guests receive a full safety briefing on arrival and are asked to follow guide instructions at all times.

What should I do if an animal approaches?

• Stay calm and remain close to your guide.
• Do not run.
• Follow your guide's instructions immediately.
• Never approach wildlife on your own.
